That fix was breaking a bunch of search stuff and initially caused a delay of 2.0.14 while we tried to track down what broke search as we thought it was related to the proxy. We reverted that fix for the 2.0.14 release as without that change it worked...

I noticed that this forum's login page still shows http (Not secure) prior to login. After the login the https & the Secure tag with the green padlock come up.

Yeah it is a difference. memcache in SMF caches data like sql query results Which means less calls to the database and able to manage higher load. Try maybe just memcache instead.

it does not look like that mod has been updated, for that matter the mod has been removed from the mod site. there are similar mods for SMF 2.0 but i dont know if they will have the URL the same as that mod.
