The mysql error doesn't necessarily mean anything, it's often displayed by repair_settings when there's no problem. Check your database settings in cpanel, your host may have changed something.

Firefox and Post preview
When using FF and you are using the post preview to make a post then posts are not being saved with carriage returns
If you switch to code preview then that is exactly what is posted - all other tags like bold etc are present.

I don't understand what you mean. The newsletters in the admin area should let you set the name right there, and if you want to change it, it helps to know what you want to change it to.
